BlueBeam Info
BlueBeam is a pdf software for building documents typically used by the Source It, Build It, SitePoint, and StudioNorth teams at NPD.
Note, you can not upgrade the accounts from unpaid to complete. It says you can but it does not work. you have to delete the account, then make a new one for the end user.
BlueBeam can be downloaded here: https://www.bluebeam.com/download
To see current licenses: https://portal.bluebeam.com/
Log in details are shared to TechPoint via Keeper
If you feel that the license count is off, you can enter the license info here: https://www.bluebeam.com/reglookup (use it@northpointkc.com as the primary email address), this will give you the current seats allowed and seats installed.
When we run out of seats, we need to call BlueBeam support (866) 496-2140) so that they can increase our license count. Always ensure that they're adding more seats to existing licenses and not creating a whole new license for our account. Giving them the serial number of any of our products should pull up the account. Always buy licenses for the newest product (currently the 2020 version), buying for an older product is a waste of money. When making the purchase, have them use the card on file ending in 8874. Receipts will be emailed to it@northpointkc.com.
Before purchasing new licenses, see if their are any open seats on older licenses that we can upgrade to the newest version. Upgrades from one year to the next are $249, new licenses are $599. If you need to upgrade, just tell the BlueBeam rep how many seats from the older product that you would like upgraded. Again, ensure they're adding seats to existing license instead of creating a new one! Also, ensure you're updating the allowed seats on our license sheet to maintain it's accuracy.
We need to ensure we're unregistering licenses before we wipe a computer, if not, we have to have BlueBeam do this for us manually and it's a long process. To unregister a license, open BlueBeam on the machine, click BlueBeam in the uper left hand corner and then select unregister.
Every so often, we'll need to email support@bluebeam.com for an updated "Registered Computer Report". This report can tell us the computer name that has a license installed, if you didn't unregister a license before wiping a computer, it'll show up on this report. Once we compile a list of computers that we need unregistered, we can email registration@northpointkc.com with the info on those devices. They'll unregister the license which will lower our "Seats Installed" count allowing us to apply the license to a new computer.
Their are also eXtreme licenses, which have all the standard features plus CAD features. This are rarely used but come up every so often. Again, if you need an eXtreme license, upgrade an open seat, it's cheaper than buying a new license outright. To apply the eXtreme license to a computer, simply unregister the old license and the register with the new license info.
